Picoliter-level Microdroplet Multiplex Solutions
What is Multiplex ELISA?
M-ELISA, where "M" stands for Microdroplet and Multiplex, refers to a microdroplet-based multiplex ELISA platform. By integrating licensed microdroplet printing technology, diagnostic plate development capabilities, and computer vision/data analysis systems, the MELISA team can miniaturize virtually all ELISA and luminol-based chemiluminescence assays. This enables multiple detection spots to be placed within a single well of a standard 96-well plate, achieving true multiplexing. As a result, the cost of immunoassays can be reduced to less than half—or even a fraction—of current levels.
The core principle of microdroplet multiplex ELISA lies in replacing the traditional method of coating antibodies or antigens across the entire well surface with precise micro-spot deposition. Using MELISA’s licensed nano-liter-scale microdroplet printer, biomarker solutions are dispensed onto predefined positions at the bottom of each well, forming a matrix of detection micro-spots. Each spot in the matrix can contain a different analyte. After deposition, the biological markers within the microdroplets are immobilized onto the plate surface using MELISA’s specialized coating process, resulting in uniform and stable spot morphology.
